Dosage & Administration
Syrup-
Adults: 10 ml (2 teaspoonful) 2 to 3 times daily or as recommended by the physician.
Children: 10 ml (2 teaspoonful) 1 to 3 times daily or as recommended by the physician.
Infants: 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) 1 to 2 times daily or as recommended by the physician.
Tablet-
Adults & Children over 30 kg: 1 to 2 tablets 2 to 3 times daily or as recommended by the physician.
Interaction
Tetracyclines and zinc used together may reduce Gl absorption and tetracycline levels in the blood. Similarly, taking zinc and fluroquinolones at the same time may reduce Gl absorption and serum levels of some fluroquinolones. Mayopathy and rhabdomyolysis can occur when Niacin is used with HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (such as lovastatin). Pyridoxine lowers the efficacy of levodopa by increasing its peripheral metabolism. The combination of pyridoxine and phenytoin may lower phenytoin levels in the blood.
Contraindications
Vitamin B Complex & Zinc is not recommended for people who have a known hypersensitivity to any of the product's constituents.
Side Effects
This is usually tolerated nicely. However, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and stomach distress are possible adverse effects. Specific vitamins have been linked to side effects, but only at doses much greater than those recommended.
Pregnancy & Lactation
It is recommended in pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions & Warnings
Zinc buildup may occur in acute renal failure, necessitating dosage adjustments. This is not meant to be used to treat severe particular deficiencies.
